Okay, now that you’re up to date, here’s the good news. If you have an Apple device, the company is doing what it can to protect you.
The Verge reported the company is finally cracking down on apps that sell user third-party data without explicit consent and removing them from the app store until they make it more clear that is what they are doing. They also added this little bit, which is nice: “Data collected from apps may not be used or shared with third parties for purposes unrelated to improving the user experience or software/hardware performance connected to the app’s functionality.” Once apps comply with those restrictions, they’ll be allowed back to the app store. So, if you’ve had one of your apps recently update you on their policy, no guessing momentarily, you already know why they did that. Anyone experience anything like that or lose an app recently?
